Golden Gate Palms & Exotics IT'S GARDEN SHOW TIME AGAIN!!!! Golden Gate Palms has been involved with the biggest and best Flower and Garden Shows in the greater Bay Area for years now. This year is no exception. Come see us at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show from March 24th - 28th (at the San Mateo Event Center) where we have had a HUGE tropical presence since 2003. Additionally, this year our plants will be showing themselves off at the first ever California State Flower and Garden Show from April 8th - 11th (at the Cal Expo in Sacramento). Gary Gragg, president of Golden Gate Palms and all around plant guru, will be giving presentations at both shows. THE SAN FRANCISCO FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW GOLDEN GATE PALMS AT THE SAN FRANCISCO FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW At times collaborating with other great Bay Area plant specialists and designers and sometimes doing our own thing we have had a significant presence and influence at the SF show since 2003 (it helps that our Palms are usually among the largest plants in the building!) This year we are teamed up with Ben Goulart of Goulart Designs and Cash French of French's Waterscapes to create a "Prehistoric Paradise." Come and see us and be transported to a primeval place and time... The Prehistoric Paradise Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in the home of the dinosaurs? Or to breathe the oxygen rich air of a prehistoric paradise? This garden seeks to create the feeling of a prehistoric setting, accentuated by exotic, subtropical plantings, full of huge palms and broadleaf flora. Experience many strange and abnormal plants, some you may never have seen in your life. Complimenting these lush plantings are two cascading waterfalls. Emerging from the jungle hills above, and built with boulders evoking a naturalistic cliff side; the cataracts bring this Eden-like setting to life. Wild and untamed, the torrents of liquid life rush down in a white water frenzy of magical turbulence. Lush water plants adorn the water's edge while small pathways tempt and lure the visitor for a closer look. This is a land lost in time that dinosaurs once called home. Be careful and aware, they may still be here, hidden amongst the foliage, patiently waiting, and watching. In addition to populating this Prehistoric Paradise with amazing plants Gary Gragg will be a featured speaker. His seminar entitled "Palms for the Bay" will discuss bringing the tropics to the SF Bay Area. Armed with a tremendous passion for plants, a multitude of amazing pictures and a great sense of humor this is sure to be an entertaining hour!
